MUH Volleyball team defeated by MUM

The women’s volleyball team lost its ORCC opener to Miami Middletown on Wednesday Sept.16. Scores were 25-22, 23-25, 16-25, and 22-25.  ,

MUH(2-4) will play OU Chillicothe at 1pm Saturday Sept.19 at home.

Miami Hamilton volleyball goes 2-2 in tourney

The Miami  University Hamilton women’s volleyball team lost in the semifinals of the Titan Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 13, at Ohio State Newark.

The Harriers went 2-1 to win their pool. They defeated Kent State Tuscarawas (forfeit) and OU-Chillicothe (21-25, 25-21, 15-13) and lost to OSU-Newark (17-25, 20-25).

Maggie Philpot (19 assists), Gwen Bohman (11 kills) and Sarah Pressler (9 digs) led the way against OU-Chillicothe. Philpot (7 assists) and Celeste Kinsey (3 digs, 2 kills and 3 aces) were the players vs. OSU-Newark.

In the semifinals, MU Hamilton lost to OU-Lancaster (17-25, 24-26). Philpot had 14 assists, Bohman totaled 10 digs and Ashley Butler had 5 digs and 4 kills.

Miami Hamilton Men’s Tennis falls to Thomas More

The Harriers were a bit outmanned against Thomas More last week, falling by a score of 7-2.

The winners for MUH were Matt Hoffmann at first singles: 5-7, 7-5, 10-8 and the team of Andy Pickering/Jeremy Hiler at second doubles: 9-8.

The women travel to Midway on Friday, April 24,  while the men will head north to battle with Miami Middletown on Saturday, April 25.

Miami Hamilton Softball comes up short at Chillicothe

The Miami Hamilton softball team braved the weather Sunday at Ohio University Chillicothe, but the Hilltoppers were too much for the Harriers.

In the first game of the doubleheader MUH was nipped 6-5 and in the second game the OU Chillicothe came out with an 8-0 win. The Harriers were led offensively by Megan Batt who totalled 3 hits on the day to go along with one run batted in.

The squad is currently 2-4 on the season.

Miami Hamilton Golf has a solid weekend of play

The Miami Hamilton golf team enjoyed a solid weekend by coming in 1st place at the OSU Lima invitational on Friday and following that with a respectable 5th place finish at UC Clermont on Saturday.

Cooper French came up big Friday with a 73 to earn the Harriers their first invitational win of the season.

Miami Hamilton Baseball crushes Southern St. in two games

The Harriers put on quite a display Saturday at Foundation Field beating Southern St. Community College 10-0 in the first game behind a complete game no hitter from Kevin Collett and following that with a 15-2 drubbing in the second game. Matt Mays led the offensive onslaught in the second game with 2 home runs and 6 runs batted in.

MUH now stands at 17-13 overall, 5-1 in the conference and has a couple of big conference battles this weekend at home versus UC Clermont Tuesday night and Miami Middletown Thursday night.

Miami Hamilton’s Baseball splits versus conference rival

The Harriers split a doubleheader against UC Clermont on Saturday, April 11. The Cougars took the first game 7-1, while MUH came back with a fury in defeating UC Clermont 17-3 in the nightcap.

Miami Hamilton was led by Joe Sullivan who went 4-7 with 2 home runs in the twinbill. The Harriers now sit at 14-13 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
